In this regard, there are a number of different debt consolidation loan options that actually are available to you today, including an unsecured debt consolidation loan. This article has been designed to provide you with a general overview about an unsecured debt consolidation loan.

Once you have considered the information that is provided to you in this article about an unsecured debt consolidation loan, you will be in a better position to determine whether or not an unsecured debt consolidation loan is the most appropriate debt consolidation option available to you today.

A Simple, Consumer Friendly Definition of an Unsecured Debt Consolidation Loan

When it comes to lending related issues, technical definitions abound. Unfortunately, technical definition can be of little assistance to a consumer like you who really is trying to make a decision about the propriety of obtaining an unsecured debt consolidation loan.

In simple terms, an unsecured debt consolidation loan is a loan that is designed to provide you with the financing necessary to consolidate your current debt obligations. The unique feature of an unsecured debt consolidation loan is found in the fact that you are not obliged to come up with collateral for an unsecured debt consolidation loan.

This differs from the other major type of debt consolidation loan that does require collateral, logically known as a secured debt consolidation loan. In order to obtain a secured debt consolidation loan, you have to have some property (most often your home) that can be used as collateral for a secured debt consolidation loan.

Will You Qualify for an Unsecured Debt Consolidation Loan?

In this day and age there actually are different types of unsecured debt consolidation loan options available to you. However, with that said, if you want to obtain the most favorable deal on an unsecured debt consolidation loan, you will need to have a credit history and a credit score that is not in the proverbial danger zone. In other words, in order to obtain the best possible deal on an unsecured debt consolidation loan, you will need to have a fairly sold credit history and a fairly (good, actually) credit score.

As mentioned, when it comes to finding an unsecured debt consolidation loan today, there are a variety of options. This includes unsecured debt consolidation loan options for people with bad credit.

The drawback with bad credit unsecured debt consolidation loan options is found in the fact that there will be serious limitations in the amount of money that you will be able to borrow. Moreover, the interest rates (and perhaps other fees and charges) associated with an unsecured debt consolidation loan for a person with a bad credit history and lower credit score will be significantly higher than what is otherwise available for a person with a better credit standing.

Thomas Erikson is co-founder of www.your-debt-consolidation-loan.com which provides debt consolidation information and solutions. Find out how you can effectively get your finances under control with an Unsecured Debt Consolidation Loan.

Pre-foreclosure

Pre-foreclosure
Simon Promissory

Financial Pre Foreclosure
Do you have a cash flow problem? For this reason, every single lender will obtain a copy of the loan applicant’s credit profile, and such information will be used for evaluation and risk assessment.

Your Credit Report is a Record of Your Habits - The independent organizations that maintain your credit profile are simply acting as independent and unbiased record keepers for your financial history. All lenders, as well as multiple other organizations and industries, will report their transactions with consumers to the credit bureaus. It is considered generally accepted knowledge that human beings are creatures of habit, therefore it is rare that a person will change the manner in which he handles his finances.

Your Credit Report Reflects The Lenders Risk in Lending To You - For this reason, obtaining a credit report as a means of assessing risk seems a fair and accurate method. With an applicant’s entire credit history, some expanding for decades, a lender has the ability to look back in time to see how the applicant handled other credit accounts or loans. Depending on the consumer’s track record, each lender will decide how risky it would be to their organization to loan such substantial sums of money to that individual.

The lender’s risk assessment will translate into an interest rate attached to the loan. The interest on such loans is the lender’s method of obtaining profit, and taking a chance on handing over extremely large amounts of money. Those applicants with higher credit scores will be perceived as being less risky, therefore the lender will be less concerned with potential losses because that particular borrower appears to have a better routine.

Get a Free Mortgage Quote From One of Our Recommended Lenders Online - We maintain a frequently updated list of reputable mortgage lenders online who offer competitive rates.

How To Understand Credit Card Processing

How To Understand Credit Card Processing
Mario Churchill

Many people are aware that after they fill out a credit card application, it has to go through a few considerations on behalf of the credit card company, and that this is known as credit card processing. This process may seem to be a vague technicality for individuals who apply for a credit card, through which they will eventually learn if their application for the credit card will be approved or denied. By understanding specifically what happens during the credit card processing procedure, an individual can make sure that their information will be applied to a card that they will be more likely to get accepted when it comes to their application. If a person tries to apply for too many cards at once, they may be denied only on the basis that too many people or companies are accessing their credit file at that point in time. A person that applies to a bunch of credit cards all at once may be desperate about their financial situation and will apply for any and every credit card just to help ensure that they will be able to get some help. However, this approach may end up hurting the individual more than helping, and they may not be able to get any help from any of the credit card companies for which they apply. By understanding what is being looked at in the credit card processing state, an individual can more accurately ensure that they will be able to get a credit card by making sure that their personal information falls in line with what the credit card company is looking for in their candidates.

A credit score is a person’s rating based on the credit that they have accumulated over the years. The higher a person’s score is, the more likely they are to be considered a successful candidate for the credit card company and in return be issued a card. There are a number of things that will influence a person’s credit rating and even if a person does not know their exact credit score, they can generate a fairly accurate idea of what it would be by looking at the different things that generate the score. For example, making timely payments for other credit cards and bills will increase the rating. Missing payments will likely detract from the rating. Having more bills and credit cards and loans will make a person less likely to get another credit card, and this is especially the case when the individual has missed payments on any of these things within the last 12-24 months. There is one instance in the United States in which a person’s credit will not be affected. This is if a person misses a medical bill payment or has outstanding debt with a physician, hospital or other medical company.

The social security number will be needed as well. This is required to be valid and will be used in order to check the credit of the individual. Because of this, it is very important that the person be able to supply the correct and accurate social security number. If the name and social security number do not match up, the individual will not be able to get approved since the company will not be able to accurately research the individual.

Mario Churchill is a freelance author and has written many articles on various subjects. It is important that borrowers do everything they can to protect their situation during the application phase. There are a few recommendations for borrowers while their paperwork is being processed that are designed to ensure they receive the best possible rates and terms.

Very simply, it is essential that borrowers do not jeopardize their chances of the best possible rate and terms during the application phase of the mortgage, therefore they should refrain from any financial activity that will significantly alter their credit profile. For example, mortgage applicants should not apply for, or accept, any new credit cards or other loans while their mortgage paperwork is being processed. They should delay any major purchases, such as cars, until after they have settled on their property and signed all applicable mortgage documents.

Since the mortgage approval process can take several weeks, and sometimes even months, lenders will commonly pull an additional credit report just prior to settlement to look for significant changes to a borrower’s profile that would otherwise change the terms of their approval. In the event that something new is noted, the lender reserves the right to withdrawal their initial offer until further underwriting and consideration can be completed.

Additionally, it is important that borrowers refrain from transfers into or out of existing bank accounts once the mortgage application has been submitted. Since lenders evaluate a borrower’s financial stability, any noticeable changes in account status or balances may further alter the terms of approval and/or interest rates. Borrowers should be cognizant that their normal daily routines should continue, and nothing out of the ordinary should be brought to a lender’s attention.

Good Credit? A gas credit card is usually properly marketed and packaged, often in the form of having a rebate system for your gas expense each time you use the card. Gas is very expensive and continues to be a need in this system of speedy transportation activities. Until all the other alternative sources we could possibly get for cars are thoroughly exhausted for our benefit, gas remains to be its top source of energy.

A gas credit card offer has a very tricky appeal to it in the sense that it seems to double as a credit card and rebate system for your gas money. You can make various purchases as you always have with a regular credit card, but the difference is that with a gas credit card, you have the bonus feature of gaining a little extra for your gas. Most major gas companies support gas credit cards, but if you really want to make sure you are getting the best out of your gas credit card, check beforehand which companies will support the card company you are about to sign up for. Also, it would help for you to check your frequency of visiting the gas station to determine how much you are really going to save in gas money when you do apply for a gas credit card.

The thing about promotions, not excluding the promotions of a gas credit card offer, is that it is often talking of temporary terms only. This is one of the first things you must check before you sign up for that attractive and one-time gas credit card offer being given you. If anything, there is certainly a cost of maintaining a gas credit card, and you must be amply prepared for it if you want to keep afloat and make sure that you are getting the actual benefits you are expecting from your gas credit card. Easy does it, and do not be easily swayed by marketing pitches that you will have to make the decision instantly. Take an entire day or night to think it over.

A gas credit card offer often exists in various credit card companies. Scour for the tried and tested brands and make sure that you do not settle for anything less. You might not like the term, but you must be able to calculate properly how much you will be getting from a gas credit card in the long run. For instance, you are about to experience gas rebates for only a few months, and then after that, it will function as a regular credit card. You will have to check also for interest rates which can be higher than the amount of gas money you are actually saving.

Getting a gas credit card is not really about getting the best deal, but can also be attained and benefited from successfully with a good strategy and ample knowledge of whatever it is you are signing up for. Rebates from a gas credit card do not usually come automatically to your account. Often, you will have to request for it and follow up on it on a regular basis before you are enabled to acquire it. Being aware of this and other policies which marketers do not often show you when they convince you to sign up may be the very vital things you need before you affix your signature in that application form.

Mario Churchill is the owner of a credit card website with links where you can apply for a credit card which best suits your needs.

Applying For A Personal Debt Consolidation Loan: The Impact Of Your Credit Score

Applying For A Personal Debt Consolidation Loan: The Impact Of Your Credit Score
Thomas Erikson

Introduction

You may have reached a juncture in your life at which you’ve found yourself dealing with ever mounting and more unmanageable debt. You dread getting your daily mail knowing that there will be threatening letters about the money that you owe to several different credit card companies. Does this sound like you? Have you decided that it’s time to change that? If you decide to consolidate bills, you can have the peace that you desire.

If you’re afraid that your next paycheck will not be enough to cover the bills that seem to be mounting each month, do not hesitate. Do not wait one more day to consolidate bills and take back your financial independence. The pressure that you feel due to unpaid bills and late notices can be relieved through the use of consolidating bills.

If you are afraid that you will have a hard time with consolidating bills due to poor credit scores, do not wait any longer. There are all kinds of programs out there to help out those that have low credit. You will end up paying a little bit more in interest rates, but your overall monthly payments will still be lowered, which will allow you extra money each month to use to pay off your debts.

Whether your credit is good or bad consolidating your bills will lower your monthly payments by giving you one lower interest rate than what you’re currently paying on your credit cards. Again, if your credit is bad and you consolidate through a loan, chances are that you’ll pay a higher interest rate. This means that your payment won’t be as low as it could be and you’ll pay a little longer than if your credit was good, but saving money will still happen. You will still pay less each month than you do currently to the credit card companies. If you’ve been late with payments to any or all of the credit cards, you may be paying anywhere from 21 to 25% interest. Even with a low credit rating, a consolidation loan will allow an interest rate lower than 20%; therefore, you will pay less each month once you consolidate all of your debts.

Consolidating bills makes sense. It is a way to handle your financial situation that will not hurt your credit rating. In fact, if your credit rating is already low, consolidate bills and it can help you bring that credit rating up. Your finances can be a stress free subject again once you decide to take control.

Thomas Erikson is co-founder of www.your-debt-consolidation-loan.com which provides debt consolidation information and solutions. In this regard, if you are considering an unsecured debt consolidation loan, you may be wondering how you can qualify for an unsecured debt consolidation loan. Through this article, you will be provided with tips and pointers that will aid you in working towards qualifying for an unsecured debt consolidation loan.

The Impact of Your Credit Score and Credit History

There are a number of different unsecured debt consolidation loan options available to you today. If you’ve decent credit, you actually do have more options available to you when it comes to an unsecured debt consolidation loan.

The better your credit score, the more different unsecured debt consolidation loan options you will be able to qualify for at the present time. Moreover, the better your credit score, the better rate you will be able to obtain on interest associated with an unsecured debt consolidation loan.

On the other hand, if you’ve been battling debt and financial problems for some time, your credit score may have dropped significantly. If that is the case, there remain unsecured debt consolidation loan options for which you may qualify. There are now lenders that specialize in offering to consumers with a more rocky credit history bad credit unsecured debt consolidation loan.

With these types of bad credit unsecured debt consolidation loan options, you will end up being able to borrow less money through this type of loan and the interest rate you will have to pay on a bad credit unsecured debt consolidation loan will be higher (and sometimes significantly so) than what you would pay if you had a more stable and better credit history.

Repairing Your Credit Report Before Making Application

While one of the reasons why you may be seeking an unsecured debt consolidation loan is to better your credit score and to clean up your credit report, it actually behooves you to take some steps to repair your credit report before you actually make application for an unsecured debt consolidation loan. As mentioned a moment ago, there are some definite benefits to having a better credit history and a higher credit score when you are seeking to obtain and applying for an unsecured debt consolidation loan.

One step that you can take in advance of making application, for example, is to make certain that your credit report contains accurate information. The majority of credit reports today contain inaccurate negative information. By clearing such erroneous entries off of your credit report, you may be able to achieve a notable increase your credit score.

In addition, you will want to try and make certain that all of your current and outstanding accounts are current before you make application for an unsecured debt consolidation loan in order to get the best “deal” and the most favorable interest rates associated with an unsecured debt consolidation loan.

Thomas Erikson is co-founder of www.your-debt-consolidation-loan.com which provides debt consolidation information and solutions. In fact, you may have gone through the entire low interest debt consolidation loan application process and ended up being … DENIED. The denial of your application for a low interest debt consolidation loan may have left you pretty close to despair. You may have been like many men and women who believed that a low interest debt consolidation loan was the best tool available to you to bring a sense of order to your finances and to your debts.

What may have even been more frustrating is the fact that the lender may have told you that you came very close to qualifying for a low interest debt consolidation loan. But, your credit score was just a bit too low to qualify.

In the same breath, the lender may have told you that you would qualify for another type of debt consolidation loan available at a higher interest rate. Before you make the decision to apply for a debt consolidation loan that comes with a higher interest rate, you need to understand that you have another option available to you when it comes to the low interest debt consolidation loan you initially desired. Through this article, you will be provided with information pertaining to how you can go about reapplying for a low interest debt consolidation loan.

Why Reapply?

You may be asking yourself the question “why reapply?” You may be close to concluding that an extra percentage point in the interest rate associated with a debt consolidation loan really is not big deal. What is another ten dollars each month? In reality, another ten dollars adds up to being quite a good deal of money. For the sake of argument, let’s assume that you have a debt consolidation loan that extends for a period of five years. Working out the math is elementary.

Therefore, you really should consider taking some steps to improve your credit score a bit and then reapply for a low interest debt consolidation loan in the near future.

Check Your Credit Report

In anticipation of reapplying for a low interest debt consolidation loan, you need to check your credit report to make sure that everything contained on your credit report is wholly accurate. In this day and age, the majority of people have inaccurate information on their credit reports that are causing them to have lower credit scores than they should had the credit report been accurate in the first instance.

Get Your Accounts Current

Another step you can take -- either by making payments to creditors or by negotiating with them -- is to bring your accounts into a current status. They enable a business to carry on a number of its financial functions with greater ease and can certainly bring some savings along with it - if you get the right credit card. Here are a few tips on how to select the card that would be best for your business.

The first thing you want to consider when choosing your business credit card is what do you primarily use it for - what kind of purchases will mostly be charged to the credit card? The variety of types of cards will enable you and your business to get sizable savings if you get the right one. If your company is looking for a card that your company representatives or executives can use, then you may want to get an air miles credit card - if air travel is required by most of your agents. Or, possibly a gas credit card if vehicles are heavily used on a regular basis.

After you select a type of card, you want to start looking at the various features. One of the most important ones is the interest. Some business credit cards now do not have any interest rate. Typically, the card will usually not have an introductory offer period, and there is an annual fee on the card that could be as high as about $180. This fee usually will not be charged for the first year. Otherwise, where there is interest charged, you will want to get the lowest possible since that is what you will be paying if you leave any balance on the card.

Look at the various rewards that the card comes with. These vary quite a bit from one business credit card to another. From air miles, to office supplies you can get discounts on just about anything. Some cards even give you a large number of points or miles with your first purchase. Check to see, though, how long these miles or points last before they expire. Look also to see at just how many stores that you normally shop at or what companies you normally do business with (airlines, gas stations, restaurants, hotels, office supply stores, etc.) will allow you to use the points on the card.

If you should have outstanding credit card debt from any other credit card accounts, then you will want to take advantage of the balance transfer feature. Not all business credit cards put this feature on every card they offer. This feature usually will permit you to have 0% APR interest on any balance transfers that you make for the duration of the introductory offer. Watch out for cards that have a balance transfer fee attached to it - it could be as high as four percent. Also, you want to get as long as an introductory offer period as possible - they go from 3 months to as long as 15 months.

You may also want to look for a business credit card that you give you additional ways to get points, or air miles. Many of the business credit cards are limited in this regard, but a number of them will give you points for everyday purchases like food, medicine, gas, and so much on any other purchases, too. Obviously this type of card may give you the greatest amount of savings, but you certainly will want to compare carefully.

Business credit cards can also be given to your department heads if they are responsible for purchasing, too. All of your monthly statements for all cards can be put on a single statement allowing you to reduce accounting hours by making it easier to track it all. Most of these credit card companies also offer daily online reporting so you can keep on eye on all purchases. In addition, you also have the possibility of setting limits on individual cards that you give out.

Joe Kenny writes for the Credit Card Guide, offering views on credit card offers in the UK, visit them today for some great lon term balance transfer offers and start clearing credit card debt today.

Benefits Of Opening A Bank Account In Uk And Other Banking Offerings

Benefits Of Opening A Bank Account In Uk And Other Banking Offerings
-ddd-

There are various benefits in opening a bank account in UK such as securing your funds with an easy access via a vast network of branches and cash machines, earning interest on the funds, building reputation and creditworthiness, applying for secured loans and mortgages and many others. These low rates hope to entice you into getting one of these credit cards, and with such great rates on offer it is not surprising that many people look into them. Although these offers can have hidden dangers and charges, there are benefits to low introductory rates. If you want to know more about how to use the benefits of low introductory offers without the dangers then here is some information that can help.

Low APR offers

One of the most common introductory offers is to have a low APR on the credit card for a certain period. These low APRs can vary from around 5% all the way down to 0%, and can last from 3 months to a year. The benefit of having a low APR is that you will pay less interest on the credit that you use. If you can get a 0% APR offer then you are effectively getting your credit for free during the introductory period.

Using low APR offers

Low APR offers often come with hidden charges, such as high balance transfer fees or a much higher typical APR after the introductory period expires. If you want to get a low introductory APR rate, look at the list of other charges, as well as how much the APR will be after the introductory period has finished. The best way to use a low introductory rate is to spend on the credit when you have the low rate and then pay it back before the rate is finished. That way you can make a large purchase over a few months without having to pay any interest on it.

0% balance transfer rates

Another typical introductory rate is to offer 0% on balance transfers for a period of time. If this is coupled with a low APR, then you can use this card to transfer any existing debts you have in order to pay them off quickly. Of course, these cards also have hidden charges like fixed fees for balance transfers as well as high rates after the initial period. Use 0% balance transfer rates to help you to pay off debts more quickly.

Keeping that low rate

Although you might be offered a low rate for around 6 months or a year, this is dependent on you using the card properly. If you pay late or go over your credit limit, you could find your introductory rate is taken away and you are put onto the much higher regular rate. If you are getting a card simply for the low initial rate, make sure you pay on time; otherwise you could end up paying a lot more for your credit.

Switching cards

There are many people who use introductory rates to their advantage by continually switching from one card to another in order to keep their payments low. This can work well if you maintain your payments and spend wisely. However, switching cards can be a hassle, and it can reflect badly on your credit report if you are continually switching accounts. Try and keep some long-term accounts going, or find a card that has a good rate after the initial introductory period. However, if use low introductory offers correctly, you can save yourself a lot of money on credit card interest and bills.

Peter Kenny is a writer for The Thrifty Scot Please visit us at Compare Credit Cards and Bad Credit RemortgagesVisit www.thriftyscot.co.uk/

Everything You Need To Know About Credit Reports And Bad Credit Loans.

Everything You Need To Know About Credit Reports And Bad Credit Loans.
Rick Martin

Having a bad credit history is something that many people have to cope with these days. Although you might think a bad credit closes many doors, there are still quite a few options out there. Bad credit loans exist to help you get through this difficult situation and start improving your credit rating. New Republic Financial is prepared to assist you in obtaining the bad credit mortgage loan which best fits with your situation.

A credit report contains all the information on your credit payment history. A mortgage lender uses this information in order to determine the amount of credit and the interest rate level you can obtain. The better your credit history is, the more satisfying your credit deal will be. Before offering you a credit deal, the lender is authorized to look over your credit history report and determine the specifics of the loan. A bad credit situation can be the result of many things, including late payments and bankruptcy. If your credit is bad you need to find a lender which accepts your application and credit history. At New Republic Financial we specialize in bad credit loans with flexible programs and policies.

Lenders usually look carefully at your credit history, especially to find out if you’re used to paying your debts in time. If your credit report doesn’t quite qualify in this category, don’t worry, all of that can change over time and meanwhile you can apply for a bad credit mortgage. It’s important to try to pay all of your bills in a timely fashion if you wish to make an improvement in your situation. Remember that your credit scores drop with the increasing of the time your bills are past due. If for some reason you can’t avoid the delay, make sure it’s not for more than 60 days, as it can cause a lot of damage to your credit rating.

When assessing your situation, a mortgage lender takes into consideration any debts you might have. Loaners realize that it’s difficult to pay off a new loan if you are already committed to several old ones. As a general rule, lenders consider that non-mortgage debts should not be higher than 15% of your monthly home payment. Excessive debt leads to a bad credit history. If you are in this situation you might consider taking a mortgage loan debt consolidation loan. This solution enables you to increase your credit rating score over time by helping you make on-time payments.

You’re probably wondering what your consumer credit report precisely contains. First of all, it includes the basics: personal identifying information. This information is made up of your name, date of birth, current and previous addresses, social security number, your current and previous employers and your marital status, including spouse’s name. The credit report must also contain public record information (bankruptcies, bank liens and monetary judgments), credit information and inquiries. Regardless of you having good or bad credit, the loaner will also find out about any other loans you might currently have from banks, retailers or other lenders. Inquiries inform your prospect lender about any new credit loan applications you have made recently. Any loaner realizes the importance of having your complete financial situation when considering you for a loan so they need to know how many additional debts you already have.

If you’re credit report score is less than perfect, remember you can still qualify for a bad credit mortgage loan. Many companies are committed to helping you get back on the right track and re-establish your credit situation. It’s likely that you will pay a higher interest until you clean up your credit situation, but this is a small price to pay. Here at New Republic Financial we offer a wide variety of bad credit loans to choose from so that you can get started on improving your credit score and even your life.

If you are wondering about how to obtain a bad credit mortgage, please visit our website! There you’ll find complete information about bad credit loans . At New Republic Financial we are eager to assist you in obtaining a loan and in advising you on how to improve your credit report.

Debit Card Fraud: Don’t Be A Pin Head

Debit Card Fraud: Don’t Be A Pin Head
Brit Hall

Whether you’re doing some online shopping, shelling out five bucks for a cappuccino, or just picking up milk at the neighborhood grocery store, you can never be too safe when it comes to protecting yourself from debit card fraud. Reviews how and where the card is being used and is designed to block potential credit and/or debit if abnormal patterns are detected.

Photo Security®. Say cheese! This is my favorite Visa fraud protection feature. It puts your picture right on the front of the card to help reduce credit card and debit card fraud.

Online Protection. Provides password protection to help prevent others from using your card to make online purchases.

While those are services offered through Bank of America, not every bank is the same. Make sure you check with yours to see what level of Visa check card protection you can expect. If you’re not impressed, it may be time to switch banks. But in the meantime, here are some steps you can take to protect yourself from debit card fraud:

Debit Card Fraud: What You Can Do

Watch Your Account. You can quickly spot debit card fraud by checking your account regularly.

Use Alerts. Some financial institutions offer account alerts delivered via cell phone or email. This can offer an extra layer of Visa check card protection.

Check Your Credit Report. Make sure there isn’t anything on it that you don’t recognize.

Don’t Leave A Paper Trail. Don’t write down your PIN – memorize it. (Never use your PIN as a password and, by all means, don’t give it to anyone, either!) Also, don’t forget to take your receipts. They contain a lot of personal information that could be helpful to thieves. Get rid of paper bills and statements by using electronic statements and online banking. This can help prevent debit card fraud.

Online Safety. Never send account information, such as your account number or PIN, in the body of an email. You never know who could be reading it. Beware of phishing emails. (These appear to be from a legitimate bank or company asking you to provide account information. But these emails are bogus.)

Mending Fences. Get a good firewall for your computer and implement anti-spyware and anti-virus software updates as soon as they’re available. Also, be sure the website you’re purchasing from has built-in security features for optimal credit card and Visa check card protection.

This may seem like a lot to remember, but it’s really just common sense. So next time you’re swiping that check card at the mall – remember – these easy steps may keep thieves from swiping that hard-earned cash from your bank account!

Brit Hall is a freelance writer – and Bank of America customer – who writes articles for young adults about managing expenses, eliminating debt, and other personal finance issues.

Apply For A Credit Card Today

Apply For A Credit Card Today
Ed Vegliante

Almost every household owns at least one credit card. And it’s little wonder why: credit cards are a powerful financial tool with great benefits. Whether you want to apply for a credit card for the first time or add another card to your collection, it is essential to do some homework. The following factors will help you prepare to apply for a credit card.

Understand the Benefits

One of the greatest benefits credit cards offer is convenience. If you need money quickly, a credit card allows you access to more funds than the bills you carry in your wallet. When your car breaks down or unexpected health costs come up, you’ll be prepared.

A credit card can help you budget expenses. Your monthly credit card statement will itemize the different purchases you made. A quick glance at the statement will show how your money has been spent.

When you apply for a credit card, you have a chance to improve your credit score. After you receive the card and start using it, you leave a trail. This credit history shows your spending habits and ability to pay back your debts. Having a good credit score can help you secure a loan in the future.

Another benefit when you apply for a credit card is that it offers theft protection. If you lose cash, there are very few ways to recover the money. However, if your credit card is lost or stolen, you can report it. Your credit card company will investigate the fraud and issue you a new card.

Know what to Look For

If you think there are an overwhelming number of options available for credit cards, you are right! There is a credit card for almost everyone today. Finding one that suits your lifestyle is key to making the most of your credit card. There are a number of points to consider before you apply.

First, check out the annual percentage rate (APR). This measures the cost of credit and is written as a yearly interest rate. If you plan to carry a balance from month to month, you may want to get a card with a low interest rate. Some offer low introductory rates. Be sure to check what the interest rate will be after this initial period. You’ll want to have an APR that will work well for you in the long term.

Next, look into the attached fees. Some cards have an annual fee. Many include other finance charges. Read the fine print to help you understand what is all involved with the card. These fees may or may not weigh into your decision, but it is important to understand them.

You will also want to consider any rewards included. Many cards come with cashback rewards, travel benefits, or other award options. If you have good credit, this is a great way to make the most of your credit card.

Apply Online

It has never been easier to apply for a credit card. You can do so online in only a few minutes. When filling out an application, be prepared to give basic personal and financial information. You may be asked questions regarding your monthly income, savings account, living situation, and employment status.

Credit cards offer excellent benefits and rewards. So what are you waiting for? Apply today to enjoy this powerful financial resource.

Click here to Apply For A Credit Card Online. After making its debut in 1985 as a division of Sears, the Discover Card quickly grew in popularity among consumers. And it’s easy to understand why: Discover offered benefits such as the “Cashback” program, which allowed cardholders to earn money for using their card. This rewards program and others offered through Discover have continued to improve over the years. Here are three popular Discover cards on the market today.

Discover Platinum Card

If you’re looking for a card with cash back benefits, the Discover Platinum Card may be a perfect fit. This card offers a 5% rebate for items purchased at participating locations, including restaurants, gas stations and clothing stores. You can also earn up to 1% cash back on general purchases.

Besides the cash back rewards, the Discover Platinum Card offers a 0% APR on purchases and balance transfers for the first year. If you have a sizable balance on your current card, transferring it to the Discover Platinum Card could be a smart move. You’ll be able to pay off the balance over a few months and stay interest free. You’ll also get to choose from over 150 card designs and will not have to pay an annual fee.

Discover Gas Card

If you spend hours on the road each week, the Discover Gas Card may be the right card for you. Through its rewards plan, you can reduce your gas budget. The Discover Gas Card offers 5% cash back on gas and auto maintenance purchases. You can earn up to 1% cash back on all other purchases. The card also includes a 0% APR on purchases and balance transfers for twelve months and no annual fee.

Discover Miles Card

If you’re searching for a credit card with great travel benefits, the Discover Miles Card is one of the best. Every month that you make a purchase during the first year you will receive 1,000 bonus miles. This can add up to 12,000 bonus miles in a year! That’s a great reward for using your card each month.

With the Discover Miles credit card, you will earn one mile for each dollar that you spend. You can then trade in the miles for airline tickets. There are no blackout dates for plane tickets. This, plus the additional benefit of no annual fee, sets the Discover Miles Card above other travel cards. Start off with a 0% introductory APR on purchases and balance transfers and then enjoy the travel rewards.

Keep in mind that these cards are usually available for those with good to excellent credit. If you have poor credit, you will want to look into a different card option. However, if your credit history is good, you can make the most out of your Discover Card options.

Starting with the cash back program, Discover has consistently offered high bonuses for using their card. If you have good credit and want a card with excellent benefits, a Discover Card is what you need. Apply today and let the rewards come piling your way.

Click here to find Discover Credit Card Offers. For some – it gives them a sense of security; for others, the satisfaction of working hard and paying off their debt. But when it comes to the businesses you deal with, a good credit rating can mean so much more – for you, and them.

Now, before I get into the nitty gritty, you should know that a perfect credit score is 850 – and that few of us will ever attain it. But if you have a good credit rating (a high number is, say, 775 to 825), there are some real benefits.
For starters, a good credit rating can get you low- or no-interest credit cards (at least for a specified period of time), great rates on balances transferred from other credit cards, plus discounts, cash back, and a myriad of other rewards just for using your card. And that’s just for the standard-issue credit cards.

If your credit rating has shifted from the good range to the high end, you can get platinum cards with even more benefits. For instance – a Bank of America Visa® Platinum Plus® credit card comes with a credit limit up to $25,000, travel and emergency assistance, automatic auto rental insurance, Purchase Replacement, Purchase Guard (which may double the manufacturer’s original warranty), and an optional Photo Security feature to protect your card and maintain your good credit. Of course, terms and conditions apply for all these credit card perks, so if your good credit rating has put you in a position to apply for one of these cards, be sure to read the fine print so you can take advantage of all the benefits.

Another thing a good credit rating can get you – a good interest rate on a home loan. So if you’re wondering “how high should my credit score be for a house loan” – the answer is as high as possible. But don’t kill yourself trying to improve your credit rating. With a solid credit score of 700 or more, you’ll be offered more financing options and better interest rates that will help keep your payments as low as possible. But let’s face it – most banks offer financing options for just about everyone. So if your credit score is lower, you may just have to be prepared to skip a few dinners out and pay a little more each month on your mortgage.

And when it comes to auto loans for high credit scores, you should know that with a good credit rating you’ll be paying less in interest each month. Which means – that if you manage to land a 3 percent interest rate, when you thought you were going to be offered a 6 or 7 percent interest rate, you can still budget as though you got the slightly higher interest rate and pay your car off faster (which will save you even more money in the end).

Before you try to qualify for the loans or credit cards you want, be sure to check your credit rating for yourself. And if you see something suspicious, take action before filling out the application. Because while your high credit score and wealth might not be on your mind every day, it’s always important to the people in charge of the money.

Brit Hall is a freelance writer – and Bank of America customer – who writes articles for young adults about managing expenses, eliminating debt, and other personal finance issues.

Know The Facts About Debt Consolidation

Know The Facts About Debt Consolidation
Brit Hall

If you’re like many Americans, you are looking for ways to manage your debt and save money in a way that fits your lifestyle – and debt consolidation may be the answer. Whether you’re paying off credit card debt, working on home improvements or simply need some extra cash in your pocket for the ultimate vacation, there’s no better time to learn all you can about debt consolidation through mortgage refinancing and home equity loans and lines of credit.

Debt Consolidation

If you’re worried about being denied a loan due to less than perfect credit, debt consolidation might be the way to go. By combining multiple loans into one single loan, you not only have a limited amount to pay each month, but the repayment period is longer. Debt consolidation improves your overall credit score by rolling all your unsecured debt into one easy secured loan, eliminating those credit "blemishes" you have accrued in the past. This makes it much easier to get approved for a home equity loan or line, mortgage refinancing or cash-out refinancing.

Home Equity Loans and Lines

Home equity loans and lines are often referred to as second mortgages, but can be in either 1st or 2nd mortgage position. By tapping into your home’s equity, you can get the extra cash you need. As a bonus, the interest rate on these types of loans is usually lower – and tax deductible.

When you’re choosing a home equity loan or line of credit to help with debt consolidation, you should understand that standard home equity loans offer a fixed dollar amount, paid out at the beginning of the loan, while home equity lines of credit offer flexible funds you can access as needed.

The three facets of a home loan are:

1) How much money you need to borrow or the “size” of the loan

2) The percentage rate you pay on the particular loan – which is called the "interest rate"

3) How long it will take you to pay it off – known as the "term" of the loan

Still trying to understand the basics and don’t know where to start? A home equity loan calculator can be very helpful in finding out how much you can afford to borrow by helping you assess your income, current debt situation and loan information. Companies like Bank of America offer online resources such calculators and dedicated staff you can talk to immediately about home equity loans.
Mortgage Refinance

Simply put, a mortgage is a loan with a fixed or adjustable interest rate which you pay back to the bank or financial institution on a monthly basis. As the need for cash or debt consolidation arises, it is it is possible to do a mortgage refinance at a lower rate. This can also reduce your monthly payments.

Use a mortgage refinance calculator to determine how much you can afford and whether you will be able to pay the lender back. At bankofamerica.com, you’ll find plenty of information about getting more cash out of your home, lowering payments through mortgage refinance and how this relates to debt consolidation.

Cash-out Refinance

Similar to a home equity loan or line, cash-out refinance is an option which allows you to borrow your equity and gain extra cash – so you can pay off your bills and make just one simple payment each month. Thus, you can replace your current mortgage with a new mortgage for a higher balance, borrowing against the value of your home. The main difference between this and a home equity loan or line is that with cash-out refinancing, you only repay one loan – your new mortgage.

With the right information, tools and advice, you can take control of your debt. So pack up the bag with text books, call the interior decorator or start planning that trip to Hawaii, because you’re well on your way to financial peace of mind.

Brit Hall is a freelance writer – and Bank of America customer – who writes articles for young adults about managing expenses, eliminating debt, and other personal finance issues.

Student Credit Cards

Student Credit Cards
Mario Churchill

You’ve been thinking about getting a credit card ever since you ran out of money a few weeks ago and couldn’t afford to put gas in your car. The few times you’ve asked it has always come with a few comments about how maybe you aren’t ready to live on your own and how they would be happy to have you move home.

If you only had a credit card you could avoid the hassle. And why shouldn’t you? Some days it seems like you’re the only student on campus that doesn’t have one.

While you are daydreaming about how much easier your life would be if you only had that little piece of plastic that would open the world of financial freedom you can’t help but think about some of your friends that have credit cards. And the mountains of unpaid credit card bills they have sitting on their kitchen counters. You think about the calls they are always avoiding, the headaches and stress they feel over the mountains of debt. When your thoughts start heading down that road asking your parents for a couple of bucks to cover miscellaneous expenses doesn’t seem so bad.

Still having a credit card isn’t a totally bad idea. Student credit cards are a good way to establish credit and help soften the times when you’re the paycheck you’ve collected from your university job doesn’t quite stretch to cover a few miscellaneous expenses.

If the times your paycheck doesn’t stretch are few and far between a student credit card is probably not a bad idea, especially if you don’t lust over fancy electronics and exotic spring breaks.

On the other hand if you are hitting your parents up for a no payback loan every week, you dream of owning the latest X-box and think that Hong Kong looks like the place to be, you might want to consider a second job rather then unlimited purchasing power.

One of the biggest advantages to a student credit card is that as long as it’s used properly it’s an excellent way to establish credit that can be later used to rent an apartment and purchase a car. The biggest disadvantage is the overwhelming number of students who graduate college with an insurmountable mountain of credit card debt. Many of them will probably never get out from under it.

If you feel that you absolutely must have a student credit card there are a few simple things to look for when selecting the best credit card?

Look for the lowest annual percentage rate.

If you’re responsible it’s not a bad idea to have a few cards. One for emergencies only. One for major purchases. One for convenience.

Look for a card with a lengthy grace period. The longer the grace period the longer you have to scrape together the available funding to pay the bill.

Don’t forget to consider a secure credit card. This is a card that you pay a pre-determined amount of money that the credit card company holds in queue. This amount is your credit limit. Whenever you fail to make the monthly bill the credit card company simply takes the money from the available stash. This is a good way of establishing credit with minimal risk. Most cards will allow you to add to the amount of the deposit as you go.

Once you have the card it is not enough that you spend responsibly and pay your bill. Make sure that you handle your card with care. Don’t leave your card lying around somewhere that it can be used by a person with a mind for a little bit of identity theft.

Mario Churchill is a freelance author and has written many articles on various subjects. Even if you put a traditional 80% mortgage on the property when you purchased you may now have anywhere from 20% to as much as 60% to 70% equity on the property. How do you get that money out and put it to use in a new investment or use it to pay bills without selling your property.

Well, here are my top 4 ways to put cash in your pocket without having to SELL your real estate...

Place a private second mortgage on your property – One of the best ways to get cash out of the property is by borrowing money from a private lender and giving them a second mortgage on the property as security. By way of an example, if you bought a property 5 years ago for $100,000 and put an $80,000 mortgage on the property at the time of purchase you had $20,000 equity. That property today may be worth $130,000 and mortgage paid down to $75,000 leaving you with $55,000 in equity. If you borrowed $30,000 from a private lender you now have $105,000 in total debt on the building. This leaves the debt-to-equity ratio at a very reasonable 81%. We do not recommend ever going above 90% debt-to-equity to allow some margin for future down turns. One of the primary ways we attract private lenders is through group luncheons and private meetings. We use the Private Lender Presentation Kit as our primary marketing tool to generate leads and convert individuals into our program.

Put a Rent-to-Own Tenant in the building – Under a rent-to-own program a renter with the desire to ultimately purchase is given 12 to 24 months to rent while fixing or improving their credit to the point where they can get a mortgage and cash you out. The great advantage of this method, and are many, is the tenant/buyer typically pays you 3% to 10% of the value of the property upfront in the form a non-refundable purchase deposit. This deposit can be anywhere from $2,000 to $20,000 cash in your pocket. If the tenant/buyer does not cash out or decides to move out you can legal keep the deposit and do the whole thing over again. Another advantage is that a tenant/buyer feels much more compelled to pay rent on time to get the purchase price credit that is only given if the rent is paid on time.

Refinance the existing mortgage with a new private lender mortgage – If you have an existing first mortgage on a property you can refinance the whole amount for new higher first mortgage using a private lender as your lender. Using the above example, if you have property worth $130,000 with a $75,000 first mortgage, you could refinance the first mortgage with a private lender for $105,000 and cash out $30,000 for yourself. The advantage of this method is that the cost of first mortgage alone will be lower than a first and second combination as describe above. You also avoid having the loan show up on your credit report and this usually improves your credit score.

Use your property to secure a line of credit – If you have one or more properties with a significant amount of equity you can use that equity to get a line of credit from a bank or local saving and loan. Again using the above example of property with $55,000 in equity you may be able to get as much as a $30,000 line of credit. We have found that banks will never go above 80% debt-to-equity with these types of lines. This type of financing has several advantages including no interest cost until you actual use the money and generally the interest rates are very competitive in the prime plus 3% to 6% range.

In Conclusion, we have outlined four ways to generate cash from your real estate with out having to sell your property. This has tremendous advantages in allowing you access to cash to do new projects or pay operating expenses.

Mike Lautensack is a real estate entrepreneur and creator of the Private Lender PowerPoint Presentation Kit. This is also true when it comes to the simple act of applying for a credit card. While an individual used to have to either receive a letter direct from the credit card company, complete with a form which they could mail back to the company in order to learn whether or not they would be approved for the card, or go to a store in order to fill out the paper work there and have it processed at that store location, individuals are not able to apply online free for a credit card. There are a number of different reasons as to how this is much more beneficial than the processes that were previously available to people when it came to the credit card application process.

First of all, one is allowed a number of options as to companies they can consider when an individual opts to apply online for a credit card. No longer is a person limited to the credit cards that they are able to receive forms from. They are not limited to companies that specifically target them; instead the individual can easily research different companies and decide which credit card would be best for them and that which would be able to meet their own personalized needs and demands when it comes to having a credit card. It is even possible to do a side by side comparison of different credit cards and the companies that are associated with them. Some websites will also categories cards based on different characteristics, such as those for individuals with bad credit, people that need a travel rewards program or those that are looking to apply online free for a credit card that has a cash back program. When one opts to apply online free for a credit card that do not have anything to risk.

Another benefit of opting to apply online free for a credit card is that the individual is able to save a great deal of time when it comes to the application process and the response to their application. They can spend a few minutes on the application, and then instead of waiting days or weeks for a response, as was the case with mail in forms, the individual can often learn the results of their application within a number of minutes or seconds. Even if the company needs more time to process the individual, they are still able to save time in that they do not need to mail in their response, which can tack on several days to the process when it comes to time elapsed.

This makes the online application process much better of an option for people that are looking for an immediate response to their inquiries. This type of application process allows an individual to not only apply online free for a credit card, but it also allows the individual to immediately be aware of what their status is when it comes to a credit card. If they are declined, the individual is immediately made aware of this, and if they need to they can find a credit card that is more accommodating to their particular needs and qualifications. As a result, more people are able to enjoy having and utilizing a credit card in order to help with the purchase of goods and services that they may otherwise not be able to afford having to pay the entirety of the cost up front.

Mario Churchill is a freelance author and has written many articles on various subjects. Having that much credit cards simply means that you have high purchasing powers. You can actually just splurge on anything that catches your fancy; you don’t actually give out cash at that instant.

Credit cards are so popular these days. Everyone seems to be using one everyday. It’s also very easy to apply for a credit card. In fact, credit card companies are aggressively advertising their services so they could attract more people to sign up. Online and offline stores even encourage the use of credit cards by giving cardholders special discounts and promotions.

It’s really very easy to get caught up in a huge credit card debt nowadays. In fact, a lot of people are already suffering from great financial losses just because of some credit card debts they were unable to pay. Most people forget that when they use their cards to purchase, they would eventually have to shell out cash to pay for that.

Paying for credit card purchases are usually even more expensive. That’s because you would have to pay for the interests. And credit card interest rates do not come cheap. In fact, they’re high enough that you might feel you’re paying more on interest than the actual amount you borrowed.

Using your credit cards can really be addictive, but before you swipe your card, you would have to ensure that you would have enough funds to pay for your purchase. If not, you will soon find yourself caught in a huge debt cycle. Credit card debts are the most difficult to get out of, probably because of the high interest rates and the surcharges.

Just imagine the effect of a huge credit card debt on your finances. What if you’ll need money for emergency situations? If you have high credit card debts, chances are you won’t be able to use your credit cards anymore. That also means that it won’t be easy for you to apply for a loan since these kinds of debts reflect on your credit reports.

Irresponsible use of credit cards is usually to blame for your financial problems. So before you get another credit card, make sure that you’re responsible enough to handle it. Also check that the credit card company offers competitive interest rates. If they have low rates, you might consider consolidating your credit card debts and opt for a balance transfer.

Though it will really be very difficult to lower down a credit card debt, there are still ways which can help you, like debt consolidation. Also, you might want to minimize the use of your credit cards until you could pay off a large portion of the debt. Limit your credit card purchases to important ones.

If somehow you feel that you credit card debt has increased without you knowing it, you could give your credit card company a call so they can check for any fraudulent activities. Credit card companies will be happy to help you with any fraudulent charges so you can lower your credit card debt.

Experts sat that the wisest way to use your credit card is that your credit card debt should not exceed half of your credit limit. In this way, when emergency situations happen, you have some option to turn to. Low credit card debts also translate to better credit score, which means that you can avail of better loan and financing schemes.

Mario Churchill offers low interest credit cards for business, students, or personal use while consolidating and eliminating bad credit debt. Apply for a credit card today!

Find Out How To Get A Great Credit Score

Find Out How To Get A Great Credit Score
Jon Arnold

There are three major credit bureaus (Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian) that maintain records about you that reflect your financial history. Think about that for a moment they are maintaining records on millions of people, where each person has and has had multiple credit experiences in the past. All of this adds up to billions of records that they need to keep straight. And it gets worse some lenders report only to one credit bureau, some report to two of them, and some (like your mortgage company for example) report to all three of them.

Over the years, they change due to better pricing from one versus another. All of this adds up to the fact that while most consumers do not know it, but your credit report almost certainly contains errors. The even worse part is that if YOU do not initiate action to get those errors corrected, the errors remain on your file, year after year.

All of this data adds up to create a credit score or credit rating for you, which is a number that reflects your ability or willingness to repay a loan, whether that is a mortgage, a car loan, a department store credit card, your Visa card, etc. So how does that affect you? Because the higher and better your credit score, the more favorable of a risk you are to the lender.

For example, I personally know some people who had errors in their credit report but did not worry about it for a long time. They were paying more than 8% for their mortgage loan. They decided to work on their credit score and discovered several errors in their credit report, which they got corrected. After doing that, they refinanced their mortgage and were approved for a loan just over 5%. This single account will save them several thousand dollars.

Many people want the easy way out, so they pay fees for a credit repair service. This is not necessary and you are throwing money out the window. A credit repair service will not do anything that you cannot do yourself, but you need to be motivated to follow up on the various requests that you will be sending in. You see, you can dispute negative information that appears on your credit report, even if it is accurate. If it is not accurate, your job is easier because the credit bureau must remove the negative information if it cannot be proved. But even for negative information that is accurate, perhaps a loan from your past, the original lender may not be in a position to verify that data, and if it cannot be proven after you have disputed it, it needs to be removed from your credit report.

Get a copy of your credit report from all three credit agencies and then start going over that information and understand what it is saying. Look for things that would put you in a bad light if you were looking to approve or deny a loan request. When you find something, go through the procedure to dispute it, which will raise your credit score.

Jon is a computer engineer who maintains web sites on a variety of topics based on his knowledge and experience. Churchill

With or without an existing credit history, good or bad, you’re sure to be approached by someone with a credit card offer. And although all credit card offers seem wonderfully tempting, it’s usually the case that you’re only suitable to a particular type. To know which credit card offer is really meant for you, here’s what you should know.

Tips on How to Know If a Credit Card is for You

KNOW THYSELF – More importantly, know why you’d want and need a credit card in the first place. Consider the side of necessity first: how can a credit card help make your life better? Is there a way for a credit card to help you become more financially solvent? Next, think about the pleasant side of the fence – what perks would you wish to enjoy from using a credit card?

Lastly, take a good look of yourself and make a self-evaluation by asking these questions: Am I ready for the responsibility of having a credit card? Do I really know what I’m getting myself into? Can I promise to myself to pay my credit card bills promptly?

KNOW HOW OTHERS THINK OF YOU – The “others” in this part refers to the banks and creditors that you have transacted with in the past. If you have any bills or loans to pay, those can already serve as your credit background and may be one of the reasons that you’re given credit card offers that you don’t really find desirable.

If, however, you don’t have any existing credit records, this isn’t exactly a good thing either unless you’re a fresh graduate. That’s understandable, of course, because you’ve just entered the real world. If, however, you’re already an adult, you should at least have a reliable and steady source of income. Without it, the types of credit card offers you can expect to receive are sure to be limited.

KNOW ITS RANGE – Some credit cards can only be used in specified stores or limited to a certain region in the United States. If, however, you receive credit card offers for Visa or Mastercard, these will allow you to use your credit card even if you’re abroad.

Cards with well-known names like Visa or Mastercard are definitely suitable for people who travel often or intend to use their cards in a variety of establishments. These cards, however, imposes stricter application requirements that what you’d expect from credit cards with a smaller scope.

KNOW ITS AFFILIATES – Some credit cards offer special interest rates and other kinds of perks and privileges if you’re affiliated with a particular association or company so do make sure that you ask the person who made the credit card offer about this. You might even be able to choose a specialized design for your credit card if you happen to satisfy any of their stipulations regarding this matter.

Now that you know what type of credit card offer is right for you, there are only two other things left to do:

Firstly, take the necessary action to verify whether the credit card representative that approached you is really an employee or agent of the issuing company and that he’s really providing you a legitimate credit card offer.

Secondly, be prepared to spend a bit of time and effort to satisfy the application requirements for the credit card offer you’ve chosen to take up. You’ll have to furnish the credit card company with documentary evidence of your income and credit history. But after that, the credit card’s all yours to swipe!

Mario Churchill is a sales person and website owner. There are times when you might need to increase your credit limit, and times when you might need to reduce it. If you are unsure about how to adjust your credit limit to suit your needs, then follow this simple advice in order to know when to adjust your credit limits.

What are your current limits?

Before knowing whether you should adjust your credit limit, you should work out what the limits on your cards are currently. Knowing exactly how much credit you have will help you to determine whether you need to raise or reduce your credit limit, or keep it the same.

Increasing credit limits

If you find that your current credit limits are not large enough for your needs, then perhaps it is time to increase your credit limit. If you have a good credit score and have always paid on time, then you are much more likely to be eligible for an increase. Contact your card issuers and find out if you can get an increase. If you are unable to get an increase but feel that you really need one and can afford it, then look into getting an additional credit card.

Reducing credit limits

If you have recently paid off credit card debts or you have changed your lifestyle, then you might feel that reducing your credit limit is a good idea. Reducing your credit limit can be a good idea if you don’t want the temptation of spending all your credit, or if you want to simplify your banking.

Problems with reducing your limit

Although reducing your credit limit can be a good idea, if you do it in the wrong way you can affect your credit rating. Your credit rating is partly calculated by looking at your available credit and current balances. If you reduce your credit limit, then the percentage of your total credit that is used will increase, and so might reduce your credit rating. If you can avoid the temptation, then keep some of your credit. However, if you think that reducing your credit is the best idea, then advise your card issuer that you want your credit lowered.

Only spend what you can afford

If you are increasing your limit rather than reducing it, you need to remember to only increase the limit to what you can afford to pay. People with good credit history can often get hold of credit limits that they cannot possibly afford to pay back. Banks operate automated credit increases if you are a good customer, regardless of whether you can really afford it. If you are to increase your limit, make sure that you really can afford to make the repayments.

Have some spare

Generally, you should always make sure that you have some spare credit for emergency purposes. If you can avoid spending the extra credit, then having spare credit can be very useful and will also show that you are a responsible spender. If you can adjust your credit limits to suit your needs then you will make the most of your credit cards and not be controlled by debt.

Peter Kenny is a writer for The Thrifty Scot Please visit us at Secured Loans and RemortgagesVisit www.thriftyscot.co.uk/

Is Congress Regulating Any Credit Card Policies?

Is Congress Regulating Any Credit Card Policies?
David Tanguay

Although at times it seems as if the credit card companies have dominance over everyone, Congress continues to remind us that they have the final say in the way things are run. With Congress looking at several issues that deals with credit card companies, there is sure to be some kind of regulations on policies in the coming years.

As the internet continues to develop, more and more people are using credit cards for an array of different things. Credit cards are used for everything from purchasing clothes or computers online to gambling and online auctions. With the freedom that is allowed thus far, Congress is bound to step in and begin regulating online policies.

One way Congress is helping people with credit cards right now is through the fair debt collection practices act. This is a law that was passed by Congress which regulates the methods collection agencies can use to collect money from debtors behind on their payments. For instance, collection agencies are not allowed to contact relatives or employers of a debtor, and they are not allowed to contact the debtor by phone before 8 a.m. or after 9 p.m.

While it is vital that you try and pay off as much of your debt as possible, sometimes debt piles up on you. With the FDCPA, it allows you to buy some time try to come up with the money without legally being contacted if you choose not to pick up the phone. If any collection agency does break any of the rules set, you have the ability to take them to court.

One of the main areas of concern for Congress is internet fraud and identity theft. Through online auctions, gambling and online stores there are thousands of credit card transactions a day. However, there are also hundreds of reported identity thefts around the world every day. In fact, identity theft has climbed to the number one crime in the U.S.

Congress continues to look into what protection online sites are providing their customer with and what regulations they are going to have to make. The further the internet develops, the more websites are going to have to adjust to fit the needs of their customers. If you want to be sure that you have a bright financial future, you need to take measures to get in charge of your finances immediately. Remember, there is no short term cure for your finances, but you are going to have to work to stay in charge of your finances at all times. The following are a few tips that can help you to maintain control of your finances.

#1 - Develop a Budget and Stick with It
Developing a budget that you stick with is a great way to keep in charge of your finances. When you are making up a budget, be sure that it is a budget that you can deal with long term. Make the budget reasonable and be sure that you budget in money to save each month as well. People who have a reasonable budget are less likely to start going out and running up a great deal of credit debt.

#2 - Work to Become Debt Free
Another way that you can stay in control of your finances is to start working on getting rid of all your debt. While becoming debt free can take a bit of time, there are ways that it can be done if you are willing to work on it. Once you become debt free, you will be free from looming debt and will have more money left over each month instead of paying all those credit card bills.

#3 - Organize your Finances
Many people fall into financial disaster by a lack of organization, but keeping your finances organized can help you stay in control of your finances. Make sure that you keep track of bills and when they need to be paid to avoid late fees, and also be sure to keep track of your check book so you do not have a problem and overdraw your account. Simple organizational measures can help you keep better control over your finances.

#4 - Avoid Overspending
One area where many people have a problem is in the area of overspending. If you want to stay in control of your finances you will need to avoid overspending. If you are going to make a large purchase, make sure that it is a planned purchase that you have spent time thinking about. Avoid impulsive shopping that results in you buying things you do not even need.

#5 - Keep Track of your Credit Report
Your credit report is a good gauge of what is going on in your finances and it is important that you keep track of it. By checking up on your credit report, you can see where there are problems and work to fix them. You may also be able to identify any errors on your report that could affect you negatively as well. If you do find errors on your credit report, be sure to call the company and start working on fixing the error to make sure your report is correct.

Opinions in this article do not necessarily reflect the view of Drug Addiction Relapse Program Texas / Sitemap which the author would like for you to visit.

How To Find The Lowest Credit Card Interest Rates Available

How To Find The Lowest Credit Card Interest Rates Available
David Tanguay

Whether you have the intentions of lowering your current credit card interest rates or want to transfer your balance to a different credit card, there is a lot of money that can be saved by having low interest rates. By paying a lower interest rate on your credit card, it allows you to focus more on the principal balance. The ending result will be a lower total balance when you receive the bill in the mail.

If you are trying to lower your current credit card interest rates, you will have to check with the credit card company you have. The reason for this is because most credit card companies don’t offer to reduce your rates. However, over time more and more companies are beginning to offer this to their best customers to entice them to stay and spend more.

Whether you are considering switching to a different credit card company or not, using this is a great way to get your company to lower your current interest rates. By talking with a representative and telling them that you have received several credit card company offers in the mail that have far lower interest rates, many times you can get your current company to drop your rates a little.

Persistence is another key factor to getting your credit card interest rates dropped. If you have been a good customer in the past, no company will want you to drop them and go to another company. Therefore, the more you call them and threaten to go to another company, the more likely you are of getting your rates dropped. You may also consider asking for a supervisor to attempt to persuade them.

All of these things will help you potentially drop your current credit card interest rates, but it’s not guaranteed that it will. If you can’t budge them then you should begin shopping around. By searching online you can find various credit card companies and read up on what they have to offer.

After you do a little research, give a few companies a call to speak with a representative. Be prepared to tell them you are currently looking to drop your credit card company to lower your interest rates and want to know what they have to offer. If you have questions, write them down prior to calling so you remember to ask them. Make sure to keep it simple and straightforward for what you are looking for.

Lowering your credit card interest rates can ultimately save you a lot of money on your monthly bill. It can be difficult to lower your current interest rates, but it is becoming more common amongst credit card companies. A little research and shopping around never hurt anyone though, so be prepared to find the best interest rates available.

David Tanguay is dedicated in helping individuals get out of debt. You may be planning to do some research in the field of your expertise, or you may have some plans to start a part-time business along with your regular job. Whatever your plans may be, you need a lot of funds. If you can manage the money on your own, it is well and good. Otherwise, one of the easiest ways to get money is to take out personal loans.

Once you start exploring the financial market, you will find that there are several lenders with a variety of loan plans. Generally, lenders have different loan plans keeping in view the different class of borrowers. If you have bad credit history then lenders will put you in a separate category of loans called bad credit personal loans. Such loans involve high interest rate as compared to regular loans.

Bad credit personal loans may be secured or unsecured. Secured bad credit personal loans require you to give a security to the lender. Security helps the lender in minimising the risk that is otherwise very much inherent in case of bad credit personal loans. However, depending upon your exact credit rating, you may also get unsecured bad credit personal loans. Some lenders may refuse to sanction bad credit personal loans if the credit history of the borrower is too grave. Generally, lenders take it positively if the borrower is willing to provide some property as a security against the loan amount. Different lenders have different loan deals. So, you should carefully choose a loan deal that best meets your requirements.

You can also explore the Internet to find some good loan deals. personal loans save your precious time by expediting the loan process. You also get freedom from personally visiting the lenders’ premises. You can apply online just by submitting your brief details and, in due course of time, lenders will contact you. So, do not stall your plans, but rather go ahead and actualise them with conviction.

About The Author: The author is a business writer specializing in finance. and credit products and has written authoritative articles on the finance industry. Telemarketing companies and marketing companies will pay top dollar for your personal information depending on the type of information collected. Identity theft and other related crimes are also at an all time high.

There are a couple things that you can do to help reduce the risk of having your phone constantly ringing day in and day out with a telemarketer on the other end and to keep your personal information secure from theft.

1) The number one mistake and the easiest way for a person to steal your information is actually in a very accessible place known as your trash. Most criminals of identity theft find your bills, check stubs and other personal info in your trash. Make sure you discard your personal info in a proper way, shredding is one way to cut down on this.

2) The internet is the number one source of information distribution in the world. When buying, applying, or signing up for something on the internet make sure it is a reputable company and they have a secure online certificate, otherwise known as a SSL cert. This scrambles all the information on the page into a code so others cannot see what is being typed into the screen.

3) Beware of scams either via phone or on the internet. If you haven’t heard of the company before or are unsure of what they are telling you don’t give them any information.

4) Never give your credit card information to companies that call you asking you to pay a bill. Most of the time they are legit companies but the other half are scams. Ask them to send you a bill in the mail.

Devin Gilliland provides advice on how to apply for credit cards at Credit-Wisdom.com.

Find Out How To Choose The Right Credit Card For You

Find Out How To Choose The Right Credit Card For You
Jon Arnold

It is great to have a good credit card. Just one of those cards you can whip out at a moment’s notice and flash it around for everyone to be able to see the gold or platinum stripes on it, and marvel at your financial wisdom for being able to score of those big ones. It feels good, doesn’t it?

But what price are you really paying for that piece of plastic? Is it really worth all that you have gone through to get it? I mean, think about it – you are paying 18% interest and it comes from some no-name bank. Are you really impressing people with it, or is that a look of actual pity instead of envy?

You need to be careful and cautious when you get a credit card these days. There are all kinds of banks who are willing to compete fiercely for your business, but how serious about it are they? If they are willing to offer 18% interest, I would say they are not real serious. If they don’t offer a generous credit limit, a low interest rate, a balance transfer option, and other things that go with the real brand name premium cards, maybe their elite card is not as elite as you thought it was in the first place.

There are a variety of cards available for you, but you need to know how the game is played, and you also need to know what benefit you get from it, in addition to the purchases you make with it. For example, there are the affinity cards, like from airlines or car rental companies. Every dollar you spend on their card goes towards a free upgrade or some subtle thing that they offer. If these are the kind of services that you use on a regular basis, then this might be the best card for you.

Do you feel charitable? If so, you may want to consider one of the cards where a percentage of every dollar or a percentage of every purchase goes towards your favorite charity or mission. There is something very nice able being able to purchase something and know that you are also helping out the children’s orphanage or the local community blood bank.

Then there are the department store credit cards. You have seen these when you visited that department store – you can save 15% on your purchases today if you get one of their credit cards. That sounds good so you sign up. But then you discover that savings that 15% was not such a good deal after all, because the credit card they issued you has an interest rate of somewhere between 20% and 30%. Ouch! That is higher than most credit cards from banks!

The bottom line is to watch what kind of credit card accounts you open. Whether it is a department store card or a Visa or MasterCard or Discover, one of the places that will eventually find out about it is the credit bureaus via your credit report. Even if you have a zero balance on most of your credit cards, the fact that you have 148 credit cards that you COULD max out tomorrow is enough to make them squirm if you go to apply for credit on a big ticket item.

If you do not need the credit, then don’t apply for it, because having that extra credit card in your wallet could do you more harm than good.

Jon is a computer engineer who maintain a variety of web sites based on his knowledge and experience. When allowances from home are not enough to cover for the expenses in college, student credit cards can help augment a student’s budget.

A student credit card is especially designed for students. This is a secured credit card which provides control over the expenses and prevents debt accumulation. The student credit card may cover for anything that the student needs. Many resort to this since student loans in schools usually do not cover expenses not related to school such as groceries, laundry expenses, transportation and many others.

The way a student credit card works is the same as any credit card in the market although the student card has some restrictions in comparison with the non-student credit cards. Application may either be through direct application to the credit company or through online services. Either way, the applicant must be at least 18 years old, should have a valid Social Security number and must be a college or graduate student.

In online applications, the student must furnish the following information: name in full, date of birth, citizenship and permanent residence address. Needed also are home address, email address and telephone number and a relative’s home address and contact details. Details of the college and enrolment details are also needed. You are beginning to worry more as your debts mount. In this regard, you may be looking for solutions through which you can restore a better sense of order to your finances and to your debts.

With this in mind, you might want to consider the possibility of obtaining a low interest debt consolidation loan. Through this article, you will be provided with some tips, pointers and suggestions about how you can qualify for a low interest debt consolidation loan.

When it comes to qualifying for a low interest debt consolidation loan, there are two primary factors that a lender will take into consideration when considering your application for this type of financing:

-- credit score

-- steady income

These elements that are essential to qualifying for a low interest debt consolidation loan will be discussed in turn in this informational article.

Qualifying for a Low Interest Debt Consolidation Loan:
The Importance of a Decent Credit Score

If your credit score has really dipped downward you will not be able to qualify for a low interest debt consolidation loan. While you may be able to obtain some sort of debt consolidation loan, it will not be a low interest debt consolidation loan. Therefore, it is important -- when seeking a low interest debt consolidation loan -- that you act in a proactive manner. You do not want to reach the point where your financial situation is so dismal that your credit score has crashed.

You will be able to qualify for a low interest debt consolidation loan largely because your credit score is at a decent level. While there is some variation from lender to lender, certainly if you’ve dipped into the “poor” zone -- you will not qualify for a low interest debt consolidation loan. Indeed, most lenders will not extend to you a low interest debt consolidation loan if you’ve dropped beyond the “good” credit score zone.

Thus, and as has been mentioned, you really do need to be proactive when it comes to obtaining a low interest debt consolidation loan. You need to act before you really have begun to have more serious financial problems associated with your credit and debt.

Qualifying for a Low Interest Debt Consolidation Loan:
A Steady Income

Beyond your credit score, when you are considering making application for a low interest debt consolidation loan, you need to appreciate that the lender will closely scrutinize your income history. A lender likely is going to want to go back three to five years in order to get a clearer picture of your income over that period of time. Obviously, the primary concern of a lender considering your application for a low interest debt consolidation loan will be your ultimate ability to satisfy the loan pursuant to the terms and conditions of the low interest debt consolidation loan agreement.

Thomas Erikson is co-founder of www.your-debt-consolidation-loan.com which provides debt consolidation information and solutions. One such choice is to put all your high rate cards onto one low interest rate credit card. This is a way to get one lower payment as well as pay less in interest.

There are many financial institutions that are willing to provide you with a low interest credit card so that you can consolidate your bills. Before you apply for one, make sure you research the company. A good rule of thumb is to go through your bank or a trusted web site. Look up the company at the Better Business Bureau and see what others think of it. If you consolidate bills onto one card, you want that card to be a good one.

Look for a card that has added features. Many credit cards have great bonuses like cash back or rewards for balance transfers. Many cards offer pretty designs or kick backs to a favorite charity or school. If you are going to owe a large sum of money due to bill consolidation, you want to get back all of the perks that you can.

Be sure that you understand all of the terms and conditions when you are choosing the low interest credit card to consolidate bills with. Most cards have a zero percent introductory period. Know exactly when that period is over and any conditions that need to be met in order to keep it. For example, with most credit cards, if you are late even one day with a payment, your rate will increase. Also, make sure you know whether the card carries an annual fee or a set up fee. These can be quite expensive, so make sure you read all of the fine print.

When you consolidate bills onto a single low interest credit card, make sure you know all of the particulars. If you do your homework before committing to a card, you will have a much more pleasant experience. It might take a little more time, but in the end, it will help you consolidate bills more effectively.

For more information on how to Consolidate Bills, visit www.your-debt-consolidation-loan.com for your path to financial stability and a brighter financial future.

Getting The Job Done With A Home Equity Line Of Credit

Getting The Job Done With A Home Equity Line Of Credit
Jim Templeton

Whether you’re new to home improvement or you’ve been renovating your home off and on for years, a Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) can really help tie up the loose ends that invariably stray from the plan – or help you handle the increases in materials or construction costs along the way.

After gutting my historic home, I struggled for years trying to complete each project as I saved money in the interim – living in a veritable disaster zone in the meantime. Then one day, it dawned on me that I didn’t actually have to live with unfinished doorways and rough concrete floors because a Home Equity Line of Credit could give me all the money I needed to complete my house in the blink of an eye.

So I took a few minutes to complete the Chase HELOC application online and got approved for the Home Equity Line of Credit I needed – and all at a great rate that was well below prime.

In almost no time, I was able to hire the contractors and put all the projects I had been dealing with on my own into the hands of real professionals. And because my Home Improvement Line of Credit came in the form of a platinum Visa credit card, paying for the things I needed – like the contractors, fixtures, paint, flooring, etc. – was easy.

After I exhausted my original HELOC funds, my main bathroom and backyard were still in disarray. So, I called my lender to review my Home Improvement Line of Credit and realized my home had gone up in value from all the recent renovations. So, in one fell swoop, I had the extra money I needed to finish my steam shower, my built-in barbecue grill and all the landscaping.

I know it sounds overly simplified, but getting a Home Improvement Line of Credit really was that easy. So if you’re tired of living with unfinished projects – like bare studs in your living room – or half of a garage overhaul, it’s time you applied for the money you need to get the job done.

Jim Templeton is a do-it-yourselfer who has not only renovated his own home, but now writes articles for home owners who need a little extra guidance in completing their own renovations.

Credit Cards Maxed Out? Consolidate Bills And Stop Paying Penalties And Late Fees

Credit Cards Maxed Out? Consolidate Bills And Stop Paying Penalties And Late Fees
Thomas Erikson

Credit cards can be a great thing to have on hand for unseen, necessary expenses, such as a vehicle repair, medical costs, home fix-ups, tax fees, and so much more. Having a credit card in your wallet can be a real lifesaver when an expense seems to come from nowhere, especially if you do not have the ability to save up money in a savings account for these unexpected expenses.

What Credit Card Companies Don’t Want You to Know –

Credit card companies know that you will use your credit line for more than just unexpected expenses. Nearly everyone uses their credit cards for things they don’t need to, and some merely used to. Even my stingy mother has a credit card that she uses solely to keep her credit score high and her credit report looking great, but she even uses it for purchases like a large flat screen television, clothes shopping and more. We just love the idea that we can buy something and simply pay over time. Credit card companies want you to do exactly that. Have you ever wondered why they send special sales items to buy along with your bill?

Top 3 Things Credit Card Companies Want You to Do:

1.Get into debt (so they can charge outrageous fees)

2.Pay late (so they can charge late fees)

3.Go over your limit (so they can charge more fees)

This is all credit card companies want from you – money. Nearly everyone has been in some sort of debt and had to painfully crawl their way out. It no longer has to be so difficult. You can consolidate bills into one easy monthly payment and pay less each month than you are paying now. Yes, it is that simple! Some credit companies might be turning you down right now, but you can get a personal consolidation loan to help you get out of debt and get out of the grasp of those credit card debts. Consolidate bills with a loan can make it so you have money left over every month to save or spend. Consolidate bills so you no longer have to worry about the late fees, debt collection agencies, and more. It will all be paid off with your loan consolidation, and all you have to do is pay the one monthly payment for your consolidation. It is so easy, so convenient and will make you feel like a weight is lifted from your shoulders. Stop letting the credit card companies get the best of you and consolidate your bills!

For more information on how to Consolidate Bills, visit www.your-debt-consolidation-loan.com for your path to financial stability and a brighter financial future.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://credit-union-at.blogspot.com/2007/09/credit-cards-maxed-out-consolidate.html' title='Credit Cards Maxed Out? This was a great idea, and a lot of people took advantage of this. But still, the one thing that puzzles me is why more people are not taking advantage of this law?

At the core of things, I think the reason is that very few people realize that their credit reports contain inaccurate data, or more precisely, ERRORS. For the most part, this is due to the large numbers of records that the credit bureaus need to manage for each consumer and business entity in the US. This is further complicated when a particular lender decide to start reporting to one credit bureau versus another.

I mean, think about it for just a second. If you add together all consumers and all businesses in the US, then add at least one record for each loan or credit card account they currently have or ever have had, you arrive at an incredible number which represents BILLIONS of records. That is a system administrators nightmare but it is the job they took on. Now if only 1% of that database is in error, then that means that there are MILLIONS of records with errors, and the actual percentage shown in recent studies if more than 25% are in error!

But something that most people are not in tune with is that it is THEIR responsibility to get those errors corrected. The errors do not correct themselves, and will never get corrected if you do not initiate action to get them corrected. One of the things that compounds this problem even more is that you need to dispute that error with each of the three credit bureaus Equifax, Trans Union, and Experian because they do not share data between them.

Now the thing that results by having inaccurate data in your credit history profile in that your credit score is not calculated correctly. Your credit score, sometimes also known as a FICO score, is a number that the credit bureaus have come up with as a quick way to gauge your credit worthiness. Although your credit score may be higher than it should be based on these errors, chances are greater that your credit score is worse than it should be.

You need to get those errors and get that negative information removed. How do you do that? You start by getting yourself a copy of your credit report, and get a separate report from each agency. Read through the report very carefully and note anything that is wrong or is in error. Then file a dispute letter.

After you have filed a dispute form with the credit bureau, they then have 30 days to either verify the information as being accurate, or deleting it from your credit report. The thing that makes that decision is whether or not the lender verifies the information as being accurate, or just plain does not respond. If this is an account that has been paid off for several years, even though you had some problems with the account early on, the lender may just not take the time to respond at all, in which case the data needs to be deleted.

Then there is the stuff that is REALLY wrong, and you have every right to request that your credit report reflect accurate information. The procedure is exactly the same file a dispute with the credit bureau stating the facts, and they have 30 days to either get that information verified or to remove it.

When your credit report is squeaky clean, your resulting credit score will be as high as it should be, and that is, after all, what you wanted to accomplish!

Jon is a computer engineer who maintain a variety of web sites based on his knowledge and experience. The reason for that is because far too many people make it way to EASY to have themselves be a victim of identity theft, and they do not take the task of protecting themselves against identify theft seriously enough.

What happens in a case of identity theft? Basically, the thief “becomes” you, opens loan accounts, charge cards, and credit cards in your name, then disappears into the sunset, never to be seen again. In the meantime, the first that you become aware of it is when you start getting calls from lenders and creditors that you have never heard of and where you “know” you do not have an account, asking when you going to start making payments or is there a problem? But by then, it is far too late.

Let’s back up a step. How does identity theft occur? Identity theft occurs when a third becomes you. That is done by a thief going through your trash and coming up with something that has your unique identifiers on it. If you have decent or good credit, you probably get these pre-approved cards in the mail all the time for credit cards and loan accounts. What do you do with these offers? Do you simply throw them in the trash? If so, you are putting yourself at risk for identify theft, as much of America does. Instead, invest in a small shredder, probably under $50 at Best Buy, Circuit City, or your local office supply store, and shred documents such as those. Anything that has identifiable information on it other than “Occupant” goes into the shredder.

Another way this happens is in restaurants, and unfortunately, even some of the nicer restaurants. Dinner has come and gone and you are enjoying the ambiance of this restaurant and the company of your spouse and perhaps some guests. The waiter or waitress brings the check, and you pick it up, glance at it, then lay it back on the table with your credit card. BIG MISTAKE. What happens is that your credit card has left your sight for a period of time – more than enough time for a possible thief to write down your credit card information, your expiration date, your CCV code (that three or four digit code on the back of your card), and get the bill back to you. You do not know what has happened to your credit card while it was out of your sight. Chance is good that nothing is going to happen with your credit card, but what if it does? You just gave the thief everything they wanted to start a spending spree, and in the online world, all you need is a credit card, expiration date, and CCV number.

Do not allow yourself to become a victim of identity theft. Be very aware of where you are and who you are with. If it is necessary to pay for a meal like at a restaurant with a credit card, ask the waiter to bring the bill to your table. With the rising amount of crime that is seen this way, most waiters will think nothing of the request. They can get credit authorization just with the account number, not with CCV or expiration date. The bottom line is not to make yourself an easy target.

Jon is a computer engineer who maintain a variety of web sites based on his knowledge and experience. Should you take it? Are you really pre-approved? Or is it just nothing more than the standard junk mail? Well, it could be any of the above. Before most companies send you a pre-approved letter through the postal service, they have a pretty good idea of your credit history.

Generally, you have filled out some form in the past, was denied perhaps, or even approved, and the company has knowledge of this. Thus, the offer for pre-approved credit cards start arriving. Even if you have less than perfect credit, you could still qualify for these pre-approved credit cards. The pre-approved credit cards offer you get will depend on your credit. These offers may be secured or unsecured.

If you have bad credit, it is likely your pre-approved credit cards will be secured. This will mean you have to pay a deposit in order to have any sort of credit line. Furthermore, your credit line will never be more than your deposit amount. The amounts you can deposit will be stated on your pre-approved credit cards offer, typically between $250 and $1,500. These pre-approved credit cards will have high rates of interest and little to no benefits to speak of.

If you have good to perfect credit, your pre-approved credit card offers will be unsecured, which means no deposit is typically required and you could benefit from a wide variety of benefits, great interest rats, and rewards.

Either way you go, rather you have good or bad credit; you can still obtain offers for pre-approved credit cards from lenders. For those with bad credit, you have the opportunity to work on rebuilding your credit and improving your credit rating with the secured pre-approved credit cards.

Make sure before you accept any pre-approved offers, you check out the company, its reputation, and make sure it a valid offer, from a valid company. Never offer up your personal information without first checking out the credentials of the company, otherwise you could walk right into a fraudulent offer.

The author Blake Hendrickson is owner/operator of several financial sites including sites specializing in pre-approved credit cards. They’re actually referred to within the industry as virtual credit card numbers, and are currently being offered through most major credit card issuers.

Virtual credit card numbers are single-use numbers that expire within a month or two of issue, and are used for shopping online in place of the number that’s actually on your credit card. What’s the point? The number is only good at the one web site where you make your purchase, and only for a limit period of time- so if hackers have obtained your credit card number during an online transaction, the next time they go to use it, it will not work.

When a customer receives their credit card statement after shopping with virtual credit card numbers, the purchases show up on the statement exactly like any other purchase. Some card issuers will provide the virtual number used to make the purchase along side the charge, for reference purposes.

Why Virtual Credit Card Numbers?

One of the main reasons why some people choose not to shop online is because of their fear of credit card theft and identity fraud. The potential for personal information to be found online is a real concern- and is proven by a survey in September 2002, where over 7 percent of online shoppers surveyed claimed to be victims of credit card fraud.

Even though almost all credit card issuers promise a zero liability policy for unauthorized charges and online purchases, consumers are still concerned because of the potential for further damage. Sometimes it is difficult to get errors removed from a credit report, for example, even after being the victim of identity theft. Using virtual credit card numbers can eliminate the potential for hackers to use the card data to make purchases and discover more information about a consumer.

Disadvantages of Virtual Credit Card Numbers

While virtual credit card numbers offer many advantages over shopping online with your regular credit card number, there are also some instances when using a virtual card number has disadvantages.

When you purchase theater tickets or airline, hotel or rental car reservations with a credit card number online, you are supposed to provide that credit card when you go to pick up your tickets or when you check into the hotel or get your rental car. If you’ve used a virtual number, you won’t have the ability to hand the clerk the credit card with a matching card number.
Recurring expenses are also a hassle using a virtual credit card number. By the time the next purchase period comes around, your number is likely to have expired.

Take Precautions Against Identity Theft & Fraud
You can take some precautions to help minimize your potential to be a victim of online fraud due to shopping online- with or without having a virtual credit card number.

Before making a purchase, make sure the website uses a secure or encrypted site to handle the transaction of your payment information. Most sites use the SSL (secure socket layer), and is recognized easily by a url beginning with ‘https’ instead of ‘http’, and often by a little locket symbol on the screen.

Always monitor your credit card statement and make sure all transactions were authorized. If you suspect there is a problem, contact your credit card company immediately.

Use a paper shredder to destroy credit statements, pre-approved credit card others, bills and anything else containing personal information before you throw them away. While many identity thieves are high-tech and use the internet to find their victims- some still dive into dumpsters to get their information!

This article is courtesy of CreditorWeb.com, where you can compare business credit card offers and apply for a credit card online.

Third Party Credit Card Processors

Third Party Credit Card Processors
Debbie Dragon

If you’re a small business or just starting out, you may not feel ready for a merchant account. Obtaining a merchant account is not usually considered difficult, however, for a newly established business it isn’t always feasible to run out and a merchant account immediately. Starting a business is often costly and risky to begin with- you do not need to go out and spend money on optional features (like a merchant account) until you know whether or not your business is going to succeed, and whether or not you’ll have the need to accept credit cards from customers.

Did you know there are other options and alternative methods for allowing your customers to pay you with credit cards? Companies called “third party credit card processors” do not require their customers to create merchant accounts, and yet they can be used to allow small or new businesses the ability to accept credit card payments from customers.

Why Worry about Accepting Credit Cards at All?

It’s important that you are able to accept credit card payments from customers, however, even if you aren’t feeling up to getting a traditional merchant account right now. It’s been proven that businesses that except credit cards experience higher sales than those that do not accept credit cards. In fact, some companies have reported an increase of 50 to 400% in sales once they began accepting credit cards as a payment method. It also helps to establish a professional image- and for some potential consumers, it generates a feeling of trust. (“If the business is established enough to accept credit cards, they’re a quality business that I should shop with”!)

Home based businesses and online businesses can take advantage of a third party credit card processor instead of going directly with a merchant account if they wanted to. It allows a business to determine how many customers will make purchases with credit cards, as well as determine if more or higher sales come as a result of accepting credit cards as payments.

A third party credit card processor offers real-time processing online, online virtual terminals for entering manual transactions, no maximum limits for processing amounts in most cases, and the ability to set up recurring billing.

One of the advantages of using a third party credit card processor over establishing a merchant account is that instead of paying a transaction fee or a monthly fee, you pay a percentage of the sales (from 2% to 15%), and only when you actually make sales. Some merchant account providers require that you pay a monthly fee- even if you aren’t making any credit card sales. By starting out with a third party credit card processor, you can judge how many customers might use the option to pay with credit cards before you go through the process of applying for a merchant account and getting everything set up.

How do third party payment processors work?

Once you have an account with a third party payment processor, you’ll create links to your products that allow customers to order and pay with credit. The links send the customer to the third-party processing company’s server, and they handle the orders for you. Payments are processed by the company, and the sales are credited to your own business- less the third party processor’s commission. You receive your money from the third party processing company at established payment intervals. Typically, money owed to you from the third party credit card processing company is deposited automatically into a checking or savings account that you have set up for your business and linked to your account with the third party processor.

This article has been provided by Creditor Web. Credit cards are very convenient, but can quickly turn into your arch nemesis. Consider opening your credit card statement to find the interest rate has been increased, yet you did not make your payment late, and can determine no other reason for the rate hike. Citigroup Inc has decided to put an end to many of the interest rate increases that consumers are baffled by.

Considering that the average American credit card holder has over $8,000 in estimated credit card debt, the interest rates on these accounts make a huge difference in how much money is paid back for credit card purchases. Credit cards are the solution for shopping online, making travel reservations, and eliminating the need to carry large amounts of cash around with you. Unfortunately, though, most people are not all that good about paying off their entire credit card balances at the end of each month, and therefore end up paying interest on all of their purchases.

Why Credit Card Companies Raise Interest Rates

Did you know that for most credit card issuers, raising the interest rate on your credit cards is a fairly standard practice? They can raise the interest on your account if you’ve made a payment late on any OTHER credit card or loan; this is called the “universal default”, and consumers who are late once on one of their accounts are likely to see every single credit card statement displaying the interest rate increase. Credit card issuers can raise your interest rate for the dreaded, “anytime, for any reason” disclaimer typically found within the credit card terms of agreement!

Citigroup Inc Helping Consumers Save by Eliminating Unnecessary Interest Increases

Cardholders of credit issued by Citigroup Inc will no longer be the victims of interest rate increases on Citigroup cards due to paying another account late. They also will not raise the rate under the “anytime, for any reason” clause. In fact, for credit cardholders of Citigroup Inc issued credit cards, the only reason for an interest rate increase will be if you specifically make a late payment to your Citigroup account.

Credit Issuers to Play Follow the Leader

It is likely that other credit card issuers will follow Citigroup Inc’s example with time, as currently many improvements are being made throughout the credit industry in the favor of consumers. If you aren’t sure of your credit card company’s policies for interest rate increases, just ask! If they participate in the universal default raising of interest rates, or say they can raise the interest on your account at any time and for any reason, you may want to consider transferring your balances to a Citigroup Inc issued card, as it has the potential of saving you hundreds (perhaps even thousands) of dollars in interest fees over time.

This article is courtesy of CreditorWeb.com, where you can compare business credit card offers and apply for a credit card online.

Gas Stations Experiencing Decreased Profits - Despite Higher Gas Prices

Gas Stations Experiencing Decreased Profits - Despite Higher Gas Prices
Debbie Dragon

Higher gasoline prices are not only a source of constant frustration for consumer wallets, but convenience stores selling gasoline are also finding the higher gasoline prices a major challenge. Increased gasoline prices do not necessarily mean higher profits for retailers as one might think- instead, the higher gas prices result in higher costs that actually reduce profit margins for gasoline retailers- particularly due to the increase in the amount of credit card fees paid.

As US gas prices continue to steadily climb, more people are choosing to “pay at the pump” with credit and debit cards. What was once mainly a matter of convenience for consumers in a hurry- credit card, debit card and speed pass gasoline payments have become the preferred method of payment for gasoline by most consumers.

This trend for credit or debit card payment preference for gasoline purchases was shown in a February 2007 study conducted by the “National Association of Convenience Stores”, which revealed that in the year 2005, credit card fees cost an average of about $45,785(USD) for convenience stores accepting plastic for gasoline payments. In fact, the credit card fees surpassed the average revenues of these same stores during the same year- with the average convenience store selling gasoline earning an average of $42,196 pre-tax revenue in 2005.

The majority of gas buyers prefer to use their debit or credit cards to fill their gas tanks as the price for gasoline increases. It could be a combination of people who just don’t carry much cash on them, or because people aren’t willing to spend the cash they do have on hand to put gas in their vehicles! It’s kind of psychological, in a way, and temporarily helps avoid the pain associated with paying more for gasoline since the credit card bill will be delivered later, and the gasoline purchase might not be as noticeable when along side the other purchases made during the month!

Additionally, many consumers use a credit card to make all of their monthly expenditures- either for the credit cards rewards program benefits or because it’s easier for them to make a single payment to the credit card each month than it is to pay for things individually throughout the month. The National Association of Convenience Stores indicates that about 65% of consumers prefer to purchase gasoline with a credit card.

It’s estimated that credit card fees cost about 3% of a transaction, and that percentage includes the interchange, acquiring fees and PIN based debit transaction fees. Small convenience stores offering gasoline sales to consumers are really hurting from the increasing expense of credit card processing fees- mostly due to the increase in consumers paying with credit.
Some gasoline retailers are considering discount programs for customers who decide to pay for their gasoline purchases with cash, to help avoid some of the rising expenses in accepting credit cards as payment for these transactions. Discount programs will allow for a 1 to 6 cent decrease on the cost per gallon for gasoline for each customer who pays with cash instead of credit or debit cards- the discounts will hopefully result in a decrease use of credit cards, and the savings on credit card expenses are then shared with consumers who help the retailers save that money by paying with cash.

This article is courtesy of CreditorWeb.com, where you can compare business credit card offers and apply for a credit card online.

Credit Cards For People With Bad Credit - Online

Credit Cards For People With Bad Credit - Online
Arther Pen

Credit cards for people with bad credit, this may seem like some fantasy or really good dream, however, it is very possible for you to obtain credit cards for people with bad credit.
